Tell City Council: Rescue Our Communities. Not Big Banks or the Police.

News broke in February that out of the $403 million in discretionary federal funds provided to the city's COVID-19 direct response, the mayor spent more than $280 million on the Chicago Police Department.

Now, Chicago is sitting on nearly $2 billion in federal COVID relief funds.

While the Mayor continues to signal she will prioritize re-paying big banks and filling budget holes to support more police, communities can't afford to wait. We need to ensure city leadership uses this money to rescue our communities, not big banks or the police.

Contact your alderperson and urge them to support and pass the Chicago Rescue Plan--an ordinance that will direct federal relief dollars to communities hit hardest by decades of disinvestment and the pandemic.
